Venue updates

Multispeaker (limited availability)

The beta version of multispeaker functionality is now available for testing and internal usage within Touchcast!

To try it out, create a Teams meeting and add the Touchcast for Teams app. When selecting an environment search for the Touchcast Hall venue, and be sure to select the “Multiple Speakers” radio button.

Finish setting up your call; you can invite up to 4 speakers.

Once you are in the session you can promote speakers to the podium and table. By default, the active speaker’s camera will be displayed on the big side screens. If you would like to spotlight one of the speakers to be seen on those screens manually, use the Focus to screen button.

As this feature is still in beta there are a few known issues:

  • Camera sequences to be adjusted - you might notice a top down view that’s not intended and will be fixed in a future release.

  • A custom logo may not appear correctly.

The Select Venue step has been reformatted to help users find the venues based on their goals and use case:

  • There is a new header section which showcases 4 featured venues. In the next update we will be featuring the most recent venues that were uploaded or updated.

  • Added a search bar to find venues based on keywords.

  • Included a filter to select venues based on tags. The following tags are now available:

    • Multispeaker (Touchcast only)

    • Auditorium

    • Theater

    • Studio

    • Avatars

    • Medium

    • Small

In-meeting add widget improvements for UI/UX

If you are adding the app while your meeting is already running, you will notice improvements that were made to the layout inside the pop-up:

  • There are now three tabs for seamless navigation

  • Search and filtering are available!

  • The list of venues is optimized for the pop-up width

Feedback about a copied URL

When an attendee URL is copied, a confirmation “Copied to clipboard” element will briefly appear to a user.

In case you didn’t know…

If you ever need to remove the app (the Touchcast bot) from the meeting while you are in the call -say you want to go old-school and need a traditional Teams interface - you can do this by clicking People -> click the three dots next to Metaverse Cloud -> Remove from meeting
