TouchCast Studio: v1.20 Update will be limited to Newer-Model iPads

Dear TouchCasters,

TouchCast Studio will be getting updated this coming Friday, February 16th to version v1.20. Apple is always trying to improve the graphics in their devices. To do so, they came up with their own proprietary Graphics software engine, called Metal, which requires developers like us to use it. As a result, older model iPads won’t run the current version of Metal --  Meaning that the newest version of Studio will no longer work on certain model iPads.

Please refer to  this Apple chart for specific iPad models that support the new Metal Graphics: https://developer.apple.com/library/content/documentation/DeviceInformation/Reference/iOSDeviceCompatibility/HardwareGPUInformation/HardwareGPUInformation.html

Additionally, this chart outlines the minimum and recommended requirements for TouchCast Studio v1.20. If your device is NOT on this list, that means once TouchCast Studio v1.20 is released, you won’t be able to run the latest version of Studio on your device. Don’t worry, the app won’t stop working, rather, the update will simply not show up in the app store for your older device.
