Do I need to take any actions to migrate to TouchCast Fabric or me.touchcast.com?

After you update the Studio app to v2.0, you will be on-boarded after you launch the app for the first time. You will be asked to enter a new password and security question. Then you will be asked to choose whether you want to subscribe to the free Education plan or start a free trial on an individual plan. After your trial is over, you can stick with an Individual plan or upgrade to get extra storage space or increased views. You may visit our website to upgrade to a Business or Enterprise plan.

Will my old video links work?

Yes, they should. If you're having any issues with your videos not showing after you've signed up, please make sure that you used the same e-mail that you had before to sign up. If you're still not seeing them, please contact support.touchcast.com and we will be happy to assist you in finding them.

Can I transfer an old video to Fabric Portal or me.touchcast.com?

5Who is considered an "Educational User"  

In keeping with our long-standing Social Mission in Education, if you’re an K-12 public school educator or student over the age of 13, you are welcome to stay with the free version of Studio and complimentary hosting on Fabric. Your videos will now upload to me.touchcast.com, which continues to offer privacy controls for your videos. When you log into TouchCast Studio 2.0 for the first time, you will be asked to identify yourself as a public school teacher or eligible student and sign up for the free Educator’s plan. This free access comes with the trust that you will use the app for educational and not commercial purposes. 

6What if i'm not part of a public school or if I am a University Student or Educator?Many big companies contribute funds or donate their products or services to charitable causes. But few people expect small companies to do the same! At TouchCast we have a social mission to support education reform in public schools. Many public schools can't afford to pay for technology, and we want to help. So that's really the bottom line: if you or your school has an IT budget, then we expect you to license our software. If you can't afford it, we can help. 
7What happens after the 30 day trial? Do I get automatically billed?Right now, the only way you would get auto-billed is if you signed up through our product portal on our website (touchcast.com/pricing) and put in your credit card details. If you signed up through our app, we won't ask you for your credit card information... yet. Once the 30-day trial is over, you'll need to update your billing details on our website through your billing account page if you want to continue to use our product. Failure to do so won't erase your account, but you won't be able to login. For any questions about billing and subscriptions, please feel free to reach out to us at support.touchcast.com.
8Why should I consider upgrading to a paid individual or business license?

Our product(s) are meant to be used in the context of an organization. Sharing touchcasts is one of the primary reason's to author using our tool, it's literally built for sharing! By licensing our products, you'll get more features, such as:

  • Increased video storage space on our Fabric Portal,
  • Ability to access your video's analytics,
  • Stock footage
  • Live stream (for business accounts only).
